I made a resolution at the beginning of the year to lead a more healthy lifestyle. I wanted to cut back on some of the foods that aren’t healthy for me and eat more of the ones that are beneficial. I also wanted to incorporate exercise into my daily routine, but before I wasn’t doing it at all. Every day after getting back to Sloane Residences from my work place, I made a pledge to walk for an hour. The first day was pretty tiring because of my lack of exercise, but as I walked more, it became easier.
The change in my diet was a bit harder than getting more exercise, because eating those unhealthy foods are so tempting. I’ve gotten cravings for those foods at odd hours of the night, and given into them many times before. I eliminated them from my condo and replaced them with fruits and vegetables. I sometimes put them in the freezer for a cool treat. I wish I had one of those carbon dioxide chambers so I could infuse CO2 into the fruit and make them fizzy. It would give the same sensation as a bottle of soda.
It’s only been a couple of months, but I’ve made great progress since starting my diet and exercise plan. I’ve lost some weight, and I feel better. I’m more active and have more energy to move around than before. The sluggishness that I used to feel, especially after eating one of those sweet or salty treats, is over. Even when I’m at work and can’t do any walking, I’ll lift my legs at my desk and get some light exercise in while snacking on my fruits and vegetables. I’m going to keep doing my plan and by the end of the year, I’ll be in even better shape.
